God’s Story, God’s People’s Story, Our Story

MY VERY.jpg

Almighty God, you raised up a nation and brought forth the ancients, not by might, but by your Word. The light of your face birthed a victorious people, not by might, but by your Word.
I will trust you with my story.
Almighty God, your people suffered, your Son, your heir suffered, and we suffer.
You allowed your people to be sold, scorned, covered in shame; taunted by their enemies. You allowed the One whose feet never strayed, to be covered in darkness, entombed in a cave.
Where are you Lord?
Have you banned us to our suffering?

Yes! Almighty God, you have not forgotten your people. You rise up from your throne. You have not forgotten your Son; your sinless sacrifice. You stand magnificently!
You have not forgotten us!
You rose and saved your ancients, your Heir, and you will rise to save us because of your unfailing love.
In you I entrust my story!
Oh God our help in ages past. Our hope for years to come.
