Several weeks ago, Bill announced that an invitation to accept Jesus Christ as Savior would be given at the end of the month. Ever since then I have been praying that our Lord would be at work in the hearts of those who will hear that invitation. I want so much for others to know just how wonderful it is to be in an intimate relationship with the true and living God through Jesus Christ. I know that our needs, both small and great, are generally the things that bring us to Christ, but there is so much more to know about Him. There really is a joy that is beyond description. Just knowning someone who, not only loves you, but is capable and totally in charge of your life brings the peace and assurance that one needs, especially in this day and time. But it is even more than that. I am having a hard time trying to describe what this relationship means to me. It is a continuous very precious fellowship and companionship that will never end but only grow closer into eternity - and something that I want everyone to have. It is not hard to put Christ, His righteousness and His Kingdom first in my life when He has become my closest and dearest friend. And His promise is true - He is supplying all of my needs.

I hope this does not sound like a dumb question (Just typing that practically guarantees that it is dumb). Last Sunday as we recited the Apostles' Creed it dawned on me that I don't know what the "Communion of the Saints" is. I have always loved reciting the creed but realize that I'm not sure what that part of the creed means exactly. Could you explain it to me in laymens terms?

OK, back to Sandi's comment. I talked with Pastor Harold about the meaning of the "Communion of Saints" and here's the gist. He said it's really a reference to the priesthood of the believers -- meaning that God has called all of us to be priests and he has gifted us in a variety of ways. The Communion of Saints, therefore, has to do with each of us using our gifts to serve one another. So, when we say we believe in the Communion of Saints we are saying, "God, I believe you have uniquely gifted me and that you want me to use these gifts to serve and bless my brothers and sisters. And, God, I believe you've spiritually gifted all the brothers and sisters here to serve each other." Hope that helps.

The donkey, a young donkey, that is, was a great illustration of humilty, and a non-threatening symbol of Christ-like obedience. Approachable, friendly and kind on Palm Sunday. I picture Jesus eyeballing this young donkey and comparing it to the stallion close by. With all His might, power and abilities, Jesus made that attempt to His people that He is a gentle Master. One we could approach. But the donkey is also known for its unpredictable temper and stubborn-ness with the kicking involved as it gets defiant. Jesus tamed the donkey during Palm Sunday. He wasn't messing around. He showed us that He was both daring and trustworthy. I suppose we can relate to the young donkey as humans. Jesus expected a small parade using a donkey to glorify His presence. Not a healthy, proud, significat stallion to rob that attention. Great message, Jason. I am more aware of my Christ-likeness. Especially at work. God blesses us moment by moment. To God be ALL Glory!
