Ruth was born in May 1960 in Lynwood, CA and has lived in Bellflower all of her life. Her Emmanuel roots go deep as her grandparents were charter members helping to start Emmanuel over 85 years ago. Her parents met and married at Emmanuel as did Ruth and her husband, Michael.

They married in 1982 and have two children. Their son Steven is nineteen and headed to Azusa Pacific University this fall. Their daughter, Katharine Byrne, 24, is married to Jonathan and they have two beautiful boys – Bouwe (3) and Brody (19 months).

Ruth has a Bachelors Degree in Business from Cal State Long Beach. She previously worked in the areas of Human Resources, Sales and Real Estate Joint Ventures and has worked at Emmanuel for the last sixteen years. She truly believes that God has used her past experiences to train her so that she can be used to serve here at Emmanuel.
