Jason grew up in Eldora, Iowa – population 3,000 – constantly playing sports of all kinds and being forced by his mom to take piano lessons. (He's now thankful for his mom's persistence!)  He went to Central College in Pella, IA and following graduation worked with college students at the University of Kansas.  Eventually he returned to work at his alma mater in Pella where he was reconnected to his one college girlfriend, Emilie.  It was seven years between the day they first stopped dating (Fall of 1992) and the day they enjoyed their first smoothie together (Fall of 1999).  Jason has been married to Emilie for the past 8 years.  They have three children: Joe, Jack and Pearl.  He's been working at Emmanuel since the summer of 2006.
