The Holy Spirit: The Person, Power, & Presence of God
Lent begins Anointing Wednesday and ends with Easter Sunday, a time span of 40 days excluding Sundays. Anointing Wednesday reminds us of Jesus’ 40-day fasting and temptation in the desert, and Easter Sunday commemorates Jesus’ resurrection from the grave after his crucifixion. Lent, then is a time for Christians to reflect, repent, and pray as a way of preparing their hearts for Easter. This Lent season we will examine the Holy Spirit in greater depth, and the Holy Spirit’s call into relationship in our lives.
February 18 – Who is the Holy Spirit? (Acts 2:1-21)
February 25 – What is the fruit of the Spirit? (Galatians 5)
March 4 – What are spiritual gifts? (1 Corinthians 12-14)
March 11 – What does it mean to “receive the Holy Spirit”? (Joel 2, Ezekiel 36)
March 18 – Ask for the Holy Spirit! (Luke 11)
