JOB ANNOUNCEMENT</p>
<p>The mission of Centinela Youth Services (CYS) is to strengthen families and communities by empowering youth to resolve conflicts and overcome obstacles in order to become successful students and contributing adults. Centinela Youth Services (CYS) is a 501c3 non-profit, restorative justice organization established in 1975 to provide mediation and conflict resolution services to at-risk youth. This position will be assigned to The Everychild Restorative Justice Center (The Everychild Center), which is co-located at the South Bay One-Stop Business &amp; Career Center in Inglewood. The Everychild Center is a new service established by CYS to provide evidence-based mediation services linked to intensive case management and wraparound community-based services to significantly reduce the number of teens attached to the Inglewood Juvenile Court and other agencies in the L.A. County juvenile justice system.</p>
<p>Salary &amp; Benefits: This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) paying an hourly wage from $17.38 to $21.84.<br />
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, sociology, psychology or closely related field AND two years of case management experience in social work and/or juvenile justice or a closely related field. Additionally, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with youth of all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is required as well as analytical, teamwork and computer skills in MS Word and Excel. Must have reliable transportation, auto insurance and a valid California Driver’s License. Bilingual Spanish/English Required.<br />
Duties Include:<br />
• Coordinate with juvenile justice agencies for referral of cases from courts, district attorneys, local law enforcement, probation and school discipline;<br />
• Conduct in-depth assessments with youth and families to determine participant needs, strengths and risk factors including educational needs; probationary needs; and healthcare, welfare and mental health needs;<br />
• Monitor participants to ensure compliance with court orders that may include curfew, community service or special classes;<br />
• Refer participants to service providers for social and developmental services such as victim/offender and family mediation, mental health treatment and/or counseling, education rights assistance, academic assistance, life skills, and vocational/job training;<br />
• Maintain regular contact with providers to monitor progress;<br />
• Make home and school visitations as needed;<br />
• Assist with the development of effective assessment and case management procedures and systems;<br />
• Maintain accurate case files; collect and report data as needed for reports and evaluation;<br />
• Participate in staff training and partner meetings; and<br />

<p>Choose Health LA (CHLA) is funded by the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC) through a contract with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) and Maxim Staffing. The goal of CHLA is to prevent chronic disease and reduce health disparities in the county’s population through interventions that create healthy and safe environments and improve access to evidence-based clinical preventive services. Three Policy Analysts will be assigned to the PLACE Program (Policies for Livable Active Communities and Environments) within DPH. These positions will manage healthy eating/active living (HEAL) initiatives under Choose Health LA, aimed at reducing obesity through the development and implementation of strategies that promote physical activity and healthy eating. The Policy Analysts will serve as technical experts, management consultants, and liaisons to community and city partners working toward policy passage and implementation.</p>
<p>The duties of the Policy Analysts include, but are not limited to:</p>
<p>a.) Develops and manages HEAL programs w/ cities, schools and community organizations.<br />
b.) Coordinates collaborative efforts with partners providing leadership, education, technical assistance, and coalition building.<br />

HISTORY and MISSION<br />
The Youth Policy Institute (YPI) provides education, training and technology services to lift low-income families out of poverty. Since 2001, YPI has accomplished this by serving families in Los Angeles at 95 sites throughout the city. YPI has an annual budget of $34 million (including affiliated charter schools) and offers families education and training resources in the areas of afterschool, job training, early childhood education, physical education, adult literacy and ESL, computer literacy, charter schools, and college preparation. YPI also supports efforts to boost the capacity and effectiveness of small grassroots nonprofits that provide essential services for youth. Each year, YPI helps more than 30,000 youth and adults each year through these programs.</p>
<p>SUMMARY<br />
Youth Policy Institute (YPI) is seeking a Parent Coordinator for their elementary, middle, and high school after school programs. The desired incumbent will work with the Site Coordinator, after school site staff, school personnel and local community base organizations. This person will report to the Family Literacy Project Specialist and the Site Coordinator. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to</p>
<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<br />
• Must work closely with after school staff, Site Coordinator and Family Literacy Project Specialist<br />
• Identify and assess site needs and current offerings related to services provided for families<br />
• Create lesson plans, prepare and facilitate parent workshops on a variety of topics<br />
• Maintain constant communication, develop and cultivate relationships with parents, school administration, teachers and community agencies<br />
• Work closely with Family Literacy Project Specialist and Parent Advocates to ensure program success and growth<br />
• Conduct marketing and outreach to families via attending school meetings, community events, teacher conferences, and phone banking<br />
• Data entry and data analysis of parent participation and student outcomes<br />
• Maintain accurate and current attendance records of workshops, trainings, field trips and/or parent meetings in accordance to YPI recordkeeping guidelines<br />
• Assist in program evaluation by completing program reports and complying with grant guidelines<br />
• Support Family Literacy Project Administrative Team and After School Program Staff with programming, recruiting and retaining parents and students, planning and other management tasks<br />
• Research, identify and bridge resources related to the needs of the community<br />
• Attend staff meetings and professional development trainings and/or workshops<br />
• Facilitate college conferences and workshops<br />
• Seek out and coordinate community resources for parents and families (i.e., parenting, health and wellness, drug, alcohol and tobacco, sexual education, etc.)<br />
• Produce a monthly newsletter and other parent correspondence<br />
• Coordinate the school’s Parent Volunteer Program<br />

<p>QUALIFICATIONS<br />
• Have an understanding of family literacy; experience in grant implementation including measuring outcomes and deliverables<br />
• Education, certification and/or work experience in specified program<br />

• 1 year experience in facilitation of workshops, trainings, and/or classes preferably geared toward parents<br />

<p>Position Objective: The Enrollment and Community Partnership Manager will support the EHS program by coordinating and monitoring social services, education events, community relations, site visits and parent involvement activities.<br />

• Develop monitoring protocols to ensure program meets federal guidelines.<br />

• Administer program standards in assuring each family meets the eligibility requirement in compliance with mandated federal standards.<br />
• Recruit and enroll families for center and home base Early Head Start program and conduct the appropriate interview that informs the families of all services.<br />
• Coordinate all transitions for new children to each classroom (center-base), to ensure that teacher, child and family all communicate with one another to when child is showing signs he/she is “ready” to begin with his classmates.<br />
• Assure that teachers/ home base visitors have full case loads/classrooms, by monitoring drops and terminations.<br />
• Provides home visitors/teachers with new children, by updating Child Plus entries at all times.<br />
• Assist in program orientation and tours to prospective families for the purpose of establishing familiarity with all program services and required documentation for acceptance into the program.<br />
• Establish community partnerships and serve as a liaison between program and other agencies.<br />
• Interpret federal, state and local policies relating to the social services/parent involvement programs.<br />

Home Based Educator Position Description</strong></p>
<p>Position Objective: Work collaboratively with the Early Head Start Director, Managers, staff, and consultants to provide high quality family-centered services, in compliance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards</p>
<p>Reports directly to: EHS Director, EHS Education Manager</p>
<p>Curriculum:<br />
• Know, understand, and implement curriculum through planning developmentally appropriate activities<br />
• Implement a curriculum and provide family support through weekly home, community, and child care visits for families participating in the Early Head Start program.<br />
• Prepare lesson plans<br />
• Provide on-going assessments of infants/toddlers using appropriate assessment tools.<br />
• Organize and facilitate socialization events and family trainings</p>
<p>Children:<br />
• Ensure safety and security of all children<br />
• Be alert to the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of children<br />
• Observe and document significant individual and/or group behavior<br />
• Document any suspected incident of child abuse or neglect and report it to the immediate supervisor</p>
<p>Parents:<br />
• Display friendly attitude towards parents and complete 90 min. weekly Home Visits as assigned by supervisor<br />
• Communicate to parents that you are available daily to respond to questions and concerns<br />
• Attend all parent meetings and conferences<br />
• Facilitate parental understanding of a developmental approach to early childhood education<br />
• Prepare a written evaluation of each child’s progress as required by EHS standards</p>
<p>Administrative:<br />
• Comply with state and local regulations regarding the care of children.<br />
• Maintain professional qualifications/certifications<br />
• Maintain a caseload of 10-12 families<br />
• Participates in data collection, record keeping, and reports required.<br />
• Fill out daily time sheets accurately<br />
• Attend supervision meetings, in-services, and training events<br />
• Submit lesson plans in a timely manner<br />
• Notify director in a timely manner regarding needs for supplies and other provisions</p>
<p>Other Responsibilities:<br />
• Keep immediate supervisors informed of all necessary information including: client and staff complaints/incidents and planned/unplanned time off<br />
• Other reporting as assigned by the director or immediate supervisor<br />
• Be consistent and reliable in your arrival and attendance; it is an essential function of the employment in order to assure the proper operation of Home Visitor program<br />
• Provide documentation, as required, for tardiness and absences</p>
<p>Physical requirements:<br />
• Must be able to lift children who weight up to 50 pounds<br />
• Must be capable of bending, crouching, or kneeling to children’s level<br />
• Must be able to reach at and above the shoulder height to access higher areas of play equipment, etc.<br />

<p>Minimum Job Qualifications<br />
• Bi-lingual in English/Spanish and/or English/Arabic (Speaking &amp; writing)<br />

• Two years experience working with young children ages birth to 36 months.<br />
• Experience with family collaboration.<br />

<p>POSITION SUMMARY:<br />
This work consists of performing repetitive operations on CNC vertical mills on the night shift (4:30 PM to 1:00 AM). The Job includes the use of inspection tools and various hand tools.</p>
<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
Employee is responsible for proper loading, unloading of jigs, fixtures and equipment. Standard procedures are predetermined for the operator. During these procedures the employee will monitor dimensions of machined parts using calipers, micrometer or other inspection equipment, to assure quality results. Operator is required to make adjustments for tool wear and change tooling when necessary, without assistance. Employee may be asked to perform other duties as directed by management.</p>
<p>REQUIREMENTS:<br />
High school diploma or equivalent and 2-5 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing operator position. Employee is required to read simple blue prints and working knowledge of precision measuring tools.</p>

<p>We seek an effective Program Specialist for our Resource &amp; Referral Department to act as a resource and referral counselor to parents, providers and the community. In this important role, you will perform telephone counseling with parents on choosing quality child care and on child development issues. You’ll provide parents with referrals to licensed child care programs and a range of social services issues relevant to child care and child development.</p>
